Salibury Seitan

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard or 4 teaspoons dried mustard
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/2 tablespoon tamari / Bragg’s liquid aminos
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds Seitan, cut the seitan into twelve 1/2″ – 3/4″ thick triangles.
  • Vegan Gravy, warmed

Directions

  1. Lightly oil a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
  2. Which the oil, mustard, tahini, tamari, water, thyme, sage, and pepper in a bowl to blend.
  3. Coat the seitan in the marinade and then place in the prepared dish, overlapping slightly.
  4. Pour the remaining marinade over the seitan.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour and up to 1 day.
  6. Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.
  7. Bake the seitan uncovered for 15 minutes, or until the marinade is absorbed and the seitan is heated through and golden brown.
  8. Transfer to plates and pour the gravy over to serve.
